  Studenții au vizitat și documentat expozițiile deschise cu ocazia Nopții Albe a Galeriilor - Cluj, 2021. Aici sunt impresiile lor! Titlu: Work Upside Down Artiști: Blajin, Compania Texte bune în locuri nebune, Compania MIN(D)ING, Cristina Vasilescu în colaborare cu Quote—Unquote și Bob Bicknell-Knight, Ioana Păun & Flavia Giurgiu, Kali / Mihaela Drăgan, Larisa Crunțeanu, LARP Timișoara, Mihai Păcurar, Orsolya Gál, Polina Kanis, Raluca Paraschiv, Time’s Up Locație: Centrul Cultural Clujean Pro: Modul de amenajare a expoziției, trecerea de a la o cameră la lata, de la un performance la altul. Titlu:  I Need to Watch Things Die (From a Good, Safe Distance) Artiști: Cristian Rusu Locație: Matca Artspace Pro: Spațiul a fost pictat (de artist însuși): nu numai că astfel roșul rămâne culoarea principală, dar acesta reușește să introducă privitorul în interiorul picturilor sale, într-un spațiu încărcat de suferință, decadență și (metaforic vorbind) de mirosul teribil al morții. U n detaliu minuscul dar semnificativ sunt petele de vopsea roșie lăsate pe jos, care îţi oferă senzația că trupurile din picturi se descompun în fata ochilor tăi. Lucrările cu capul aflat deja într-un stadiu avansat de descompunere/putrefacție, amintind de un zombie din filmele contemporane, şi cea redând un torso contorsionat. Manuela Holban studied Painting and Art History at Fine Art Institute in Bucharest and she then completed her studies with extensive travels abroad. In 1987 she migrated to the United States of America where she opened a studio. She exhibited in both the United States and Europe and is currently represented by three American galleries such as Gallery Chiz from Pittsburgh and Pierogi 2000, Brooklyn. This event took place inside the Museum of Art, Cluj-Napoca, between the 24th of October and the 11th of November, with 4-5 rooms dedicated to the exhibition, together with a panel that provided some biographical info about the artist and the general theme of the exhibited works, all dedicated to better preparing the viewer. This blog is meant to showcase the works (in progress) of the Art History students from the "Babeș-Bolyai" University in Cluj-Napoca. As they experiment with different topics, approaches, and styles, Work in Progress will function as a platform launching their texts into the world wide web for their colleagues as well as others to be able to view and appreciate their efforts. Hopefully, as the blog grows it will also help them with tracking their own progress as they exercise writing techniques and perfect their craft. Most of the texts will come in the form of reviews, analyzing books and even art shows, but also as essays or short preparatory studies on various art history-related themes. All of the chosen subjects and the resulting texts themselves will first be presented and debated in our regular group sessions and round-table discussions. Following the feedback the texts are tinkered with until they reach their best possible form before being published. V.P.
